Geometry of Desire Encaustic Series

This series of work started off when I found an old geometry textbook and laughing with my hubby about how that was really the only math class I ever had that I liked b/c it involved shapes.  I don't remember how or why the idea of a romantic triangle came into my head, but I started to think that there is a geometry to all emotive desires.  But I try not to think about it too much as thinking will sometimes make me overwork things.  As Martha Graham (personal goddess of modern dance) once said to Agnes DeMille (Yes, THAT Demille's niece who was more of a Broadway-ballet choreographer)

" ... It is your business to keep it (creative work) yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open. You do not even have to believe in yourself or your work. You have to keep yourself open and aware to the urges that motivate you. .."

Click here to read the entire post... but this is my keeping the channel open work as manifested as mixed media encaustic paintings.
